The NPIEN Board of Directors congratulated Bianca Larson for her service as President of the Board, from 2006-2008. Bianca was the first president following Founder/President Dr. Victor Thompson, who served from 2001-2006. "It was difficult following me since I was the first president, but Bianca was more than willing to give her very best, and she brought NPIEN to new heights!" During Bianca's tenure, she created the first NPIEN Website, which has grown to a viable communication and resource tool averaging more than 300 hits monthly, and recently surpassing 3,000 total hits. NPIEN entered the media world, with interviews on Radio Australia, CNN Local, and Samoa News.com. Two successful annual conferences were held in Paramount and Long Beach. NPIEN joined TEAM Referral Network, an important business partner, and held its first golf tournament. Professionally, Bianca entered the teaching ranks. The NPIEN Board salutes its first president since the founder, Bianca Larson. We appreciate your enthusiasm, and dedication to our mission to seek out and help the students of our community. Bianca received the NPIEN Gavel Award recognizing her successful presidency.

Alpine Village Managers Gave to Community
A recent Daily Breeze (Torrance, CA) article noted the firing of Hans and Teri Rotter, the long-time managers of Alpine Village. A popular venue for Pacific Islander community events, the Rotter's donated to many nonprofit organizations over the past 40 years. Much of the proceeds from the popular Oktoberfest was given back to a variety of community organizations. NPIEN thanks the Rotter's for their support to many over the years.
