TS and SAI Scholarships for Samoan Students

Note: Together Samoa and SAI are NPIEN partners

Talofa lava,

I wanted to let everyone know of a scholarship opportunity open to Samoan high school seniors in CA. Together Samoa (TS) and Samoan Achievers International (SAI) are partnering up to offer TWO $500 scholarships to 2 high school seniors who are planning on attending ANY college next year (trade school, community college, 4 year universities, etc.- all that are continuing their education beyond HS are welcomed to apply!).

We are asking those who are eligible and interested in applying to write a 3-4 page typed essay about an elder who has helped them to learn more about fa'aSamoa-- the Samoan way. Attached is the essay prompt and application that must be completed and submitted NO LATER than APRIL 9, 2010 at 7 pm PST,

The winners will receive a $500 scholarship, become a published author in an anthology, and be recognized at the Annual SAI Awards Gala held at Long Beach Hyatt!

If you have any questions, please feel free to email essay@togethersamoa.com. Applications are also available at www.togethersamoa.com.

Please also help us get the word out by forwarding this to folks in our community!

Fa'afetai tele lava,
