On December 14, 2009 at its Annual Holiday Board and Staff Meeting, held at the Ohana Hawaiian BBQ in Lakewood, CA, Ohana's Jin Lee was presented the Dr. Alofa Tanuvasa Community Award for his service to NPIEN and the Pacific Islander Community. Ohana Hawaiian BBQ has been a frequent site of NPIEN fundraisers and meetings the past few years. The fundraisers provide an opportunity for NPIEN members and friends to gather, enjoy some delicious Hawaiian food, and also view entertainment by the Linaka Polynesian Dancers, NPIEN Halau, and the ever popular Uncle Henry Kamae, ukulele artist. NPIEN Sponsor Cookie Lee, Lorraine Telles, has also participated as a vendor. Ohana has donated a percentage of the proceeds from these events to NPIEN's operational and scholarship funds. We salute Jin Lee and Ohana Hawaiian BBQ for their Aloha, and willingness to always support us!

First, the application will go through an initial screening of minimum criteria (G.P.A, etc.) by Morehouse College. Second, the NHPI students who pass the first screening will receive an invitation for an interview with the selection committee. The APIAHF and CDC will part take in the interview and selection process. Federal Student Aid Checklist
Dear counselor, librarian, or other mentor,
In November, we mailed a single copy of the new, expanded College Preparation Checklist to every address on our Federal Student Aid Publications Ordering System mailing list. We recommend the checklist as a foundational information and outreach publication for any students who are considering college. In the mailing that you received, along with the checklist, is a letter (which we have included as a link in this e-mail). The letter introduces the checklist and provides ordering instructions and other important information about Federal Student Aid publications and the FAFSA.
You can download a PDF of the checklist at www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov/collprep. You can download a copy of the letter at http://www.fsa4counselors.ed.gov/clcf/attachments/MLLetterFinal.pdf.
